Privacy Policy

Cirkit LLC (“Cirkit”, “we”) runs Cirkit at cirkit.us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and profile picture, and how you sign in (email or Google). Sign-in is handled by Clerk; we never see your password.
- Your content: the files you upload (schematic PDFs, BOM spreadsheets, datasheets, annotation images), everything you add to them (annotations, comments, measurements, equations, trace maps, issues), and thumbnails made from your files.
- Emails sent to a workspace's email bot: the sender, recipients, subject, date, text and attachments. The email's formatted (HTML) version isn't stored.
- Messages you send us through the contact form or by email: your name, email address, the message, and anything you attach (a screenshot; for a bug report, if you choose, the page you were on, your browser, screen size and project ID).
- Founding-price reservations from the pricing page: your email address, your name if you give it, the plan you're interested in and, for Team, your team's size. We use them only to tell you when paid plans open.
- Usage: how much of your AI allowance you've used, storage used, upload and email counts (to apply usage limits), and your notifications.
- Technical data: your IP address and basic details of each request, used for security, to limit abuse, and in our hosting provider's logs.
- On your device: sign-in cookies (from Clerk) and small preferences saved in your browser, such as the theme and panel sizes. Cirkit has no advertising or analytics trackers.
2. How we use it
- To provide Cirkit: store and show your work, run workspaces, share links and notifications, and send the emails you ask for (such as invitations).
- For AI features, only when you use them (chat, explaining a part, asking about an area, reading a datasheet or the text in a box, sorting and summarizing emails filed by the email bot): we send the content involved to our AI provider and show you the result.
- For part lookups: we send the part numbers you search to parts suppliers.
- To keep Cirkit secure, prevent abuse, and apply usage limits.
- To tell you about your account or important changes to Cirkit. We don't send marketing emails.
We don't sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.
3. Who can see your content
- The people you choose. Your personal workspace is only yours. In a team workspace, members see its projects according to their role, which the workspace's owner and admins set.
- Anyone with a view-only link you or an admin create, until it expires (after 30 days) or is turned off. Link viewers can't edit, see issues or chats, or use AI.
- Emails filed by the email bot are visible to the members of that workspace.
- Our service providers, below, which handle data only to provide their service to us. Anthropic doesn't use data sent through its API to train its models.
- If the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Cirkit, its users or others. If Cirkit LLC is merged or acquired, your information may be transferred under this policy.

4. Where it's stored
Cirkit and its data are hosted in the United States.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account and workspaces exist. When you delete a file, project or workspace, it's removed from Cirkit and its file storage right away; copies in database backups are kept for a short time (no more than 30 days) and then removed. Our AI provider keeps the content it receives only for a limited time under its own terms. Server logs are kept for a limited time.
6. Your choices and rights
- Update your name, email and profile picture in your account settings.
- Export a project's data, download its BOMs, and delete files, projects and team workspaces at any time.
- To delete your account and all your data, to get a copy of what we hold about you (including your uploaded files), or to ask what we hold, email privacy@cirkit.us. We'll confirm it's you and respond within 45 days, usually much sooner.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used and shared, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising. We won't treat you differently for using these rights, and you can use an authorized agent. Email privacy@cirkit.us.
If you live elsewhere (for example in the EU or UK), you may have similar rights; email us and we'll help.
7. Security
Cirkit is served over HTTPS. Uploaded files are kept in private storage and are only reachable through Cirkit, which checks who's signed in and their role in the workspace. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it.
8. Children
Cirkit isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email privacy@cirkit.us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you by email or in Cirkit before significant changes take effect.
