BOM and part details
Import a BOM once and every part on the schematic knows its MPN, value, package and datasheet.

Import a BOM
- Open the schematic it belongs to, then the schematic menu, and choose Upload BOM….
- Choose (or drop) the BOM file: Excel (.xlsx, .xls) or CSV, up to 20 MB.
- Check the preview: Cirkit picks the column that holds designators (marked looks like designators). Choose another if it guessed wrong.
- Click Store BOM. Cirkit finds each designator on the schematic and attaches that row to the part.
Tip
- A row listing several designators ("R1, R2, R5" or "R1-R4") is attached to each of them.
Read the import report
- After importing, the report shows how many BOM rows matched a designator on the schematic.
- It lists designators that are in the BOM but not on any page, and parts that appear more than once.
- Open it again later from the schematic menu: Import report.
See a part's details
- With Select on, hover over a designator on the schematic: a card shows its BOM row.
- Click it to open everything in the annotation panel: MPN, manufacturer, value, package, the team's note and its datasheet. To open its datasheet straight away, hold Ctrl (⌘ on Mac) while you click.
- The Parts tab of the annotation panel lists every part; type in the search box to find one by designator, value or MPN.
View, download, replace or remove the BOM
- Open the schematic menu: under BOM, choose View BOM to see the whole table, or Download BOM for the original file.
- To import a newer version, choose Replace BOM… and follow the same steps.
- Remove BOM… takes the BOM data off the parts (your own notes stay).
