Guide / On the schematic

Part lookup and datasheets

Highlight a part number and look it up on DigiKey and Mouser, then attach its datasheet for everyone.

Look up a part number

  1. With Select on, drag across a manufacturer part number on the schematic (e.g. B560C).
  2. Choose Look up datasheet in the menu.
  3. Results come from DigiKey (Mouser if DigiKey has nothing): MPN, manufacturer, description and datasheet.
  4. Choose a result to attach its datasheet to the part. Every other part in the project with the same part number gets it too (unless it already has a different one), including parts added later.

Attach a datasheet from your computer

  1. Open the part's annotation in the panel.
  2. Click Upload datasheet from local drive and choose the PDF, or Look up from parts database to search.
  3. Use Replace to swap it later.

Read a datasheet

  1. Click 📄 View datasheet on the part, or hold Ctrl (⌘ on Mac) and click the part on the schematic: it opens in a panel beside the schematic, for anyone on the project.
  2. The AI can read attached datasheets when you ask about the part (see AI).
Tip
  • Some manufacturers' sites refuse downloads: the datasheet is then attached as a link that opens in a new tab.
